James Rein

Mr. Rein is a Founding Partner and Advisor of Bonaventure Capital.

Until his retirement at the end of 2014, Mr. Rein was President and COO of BL Harbert International, a privately-held construction company based in Birmingham. Prior to his role at BL Harbert International, he was with the Harbert Organization starting in 1979. Before joining the Harbert Organization, Mr. Rein worked in South Africa, England and Ecuador.

Mr. Rein is a native of South Africa and earned his B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Cape Town, South Africa. He also earned a D.I.C. in Soil Mechanics from Imperial College in London, as well as an M.S. in Soil Mechanics with Distinction from London University. Finally, Mr. Rein holds an M.S. in Construction Management from Stanford University.

Mr. Rein is registered as a Professional Engineer, State of Alabama, and is a Member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). He serves on the boards of the UAB Civil Engineering Advisory Board and Gulf Standard Energy.
